The world has now reached the point of Peak Oil. After nearly 150 years of uninterrupted supply growth crude oil production has peaked and has entered its irreversible decline.
All the easy oil and gas in the world has pretty much been found. Now comes the harder work in finding and producing oil from more challenging environments and work areas.
The most knowledgeable experts revised their predictions and now concur that 2005 is apt to be the year of all-time global peak production. -James Kunstler

The doubling of oil prices in the past couple of years is not an anomaly, but a picture of the future. Peak oil is at hand.
